Non-friable or bonded asbestos is a term used to describe asbestos which is firmly bound in the matrix of the material. Asbestos cement products include flat and corrugated sheeting used in walls, ceilings, and roofs and moulded items like downpipes and spouting.
Undisturbed these materials are unlikely to release measurable levels of asbestos fibre. However, if a dwelling has an asbestos product roof and it is replaced/reroofed it is imperative that it is done in a safe manor.
